CSR Lanka was formed in May 2013 with the encouragement from United States Agency for International Development (USAID).CSR Lanka is an initiative piloted and managed collectively by a group of private sector companies in Sri Lanka with the aim of providing strategic guidance and necessary resources to bridge this gap between ad hoc CSR projects and creating sustainable value. Since then the Board of Directors has developed CSR Lanka to be an independent organization represented entirely by the private sector companies and SMEs. “Nikasala Piyasa” Opening Ceremony(26th October 2018)

“Nikasala Piyasa” the Waste Collection Center under the Municipal Waste Recycling – Pilot Project, collaborative work of CSR Sri Lanka, Ceylon Biscuits Ltd, Ministry of Megapolis & Western Development and Kaduwela Municipal Council was opened for the public by Hon. Patali Champika Ranawaka, Minister of Megapolis & Western Development.

Waste Collection Center Kaduwela – Awareness Campaign (9th December 2018)

A team from Kaduwela Municipal Council lead by the Deputy Commissioner, with the guidance of Mr.Nimal Premathilaka, Social Specialist, Ministry of Megapolis & Western Development and the participation of CSR Sri Lanka and CBL, visited 200 households of the Kaduwela region around the Waste Collection Center to raise awareness of the newly opened waste collection which is a huge step forward to identify a workable model to address the solid waste management issues in the country. The expectation was to motivate the households to bring segregated solid waste to the waste collection center and in return, to receive points, which can be converted to cash or rewards.
